See tags! Tags with exclamation points are posts which you, dear not-me stranger, might find relevant; the rest are for my own ease of reference.

For the closest thing I have to a muselist, see the members of this community. Administrators are the accounts I use most often (always including this one, [personal profile] keylogged, for OOC management); members are the rest of the RP accounts.

does a-musements is make icons/code?

All of my own, and on occasion for friends! I don’t do public uploads* or requests (*edit: except for one icon batch of my main muse).

For the record, though, if you have an Omori muse, the Fandom wiki’s character pages are a goldmine for official art ;V

define: 404

An original project spawned in 2018, developed most heavily up to and including 2021, and forever in the back of my head as something to return to. Since I’ve dragged the gang here for RP shenanigans, figured I’d make a post condensing some relevant info.

inhuman attributes

At a glance, the main characters are all regular human beings; no powers, no supernatural abilities. In canon, they never come into contact with any outsiders, so it’s left to interpretation whether they’re actually unnatural, or if any oddities are a byproduct of art style. But I think it’s fun to highlight the artificial aspects, so!

  • Eyes have sclera that are a little too white (#FFFFFF), and pitch black (#000000) oval-shaped pupils. No irises.
  • Inner mouth is grayscale.
  • Skintone is unnaturally flat and even, missing the undertones that organic flesh should have.
  • Not warm to the touch. No pulse. Not cold, exactly; touching them is like touching a room-temperature object.

Do they have blood? Only one has tested it, and all she found was a pixelated mess; the others never bleed onscreen in canon. All four, however, are capable of turning red in the face from emotion.

They also don’t need to eat, sleep, breathe, etc. Most do anyway, out of habit.

world TL;DR

The characters canonically exist in the world of an incomplete game, set in a nondescript modern-day city. No one inhabits the place but them. Beyond sparse points of interest, there’s nothing but “void”: an undefined, indefinite expanse.

At their canon point, all four are aware of their status as fake people in a fake world. Some have taken to this better than others.

the cast

  1. Valerie, AKA Val ([personal profile] invalidvalue)
    Resident gamewrecker. Current purpose undefined.
  2. Kade ([personal profile] blockaded)
A friend, on paper. Not always in practice.
  3. Cyrus (no journal yet)
A support, or so they try. Someone has to be patient.
  4. Rudy (no journal yet)
Loud little bro. Thinks the void is cool as heck, actually.

Individual information on the respective journal.

Fun run while it lasted ✌️ Info below this box kept for posterity.

List mod at [community profile] labyrinthum since 2024 November, and active behind the scenes there. I do not use Plurk. For mod-related inquiries, please use the game’s mod contact. If you need to reach me personally, use PM; I am unlikely to see your message otherwise.

quickfire notes

  • contact: PM a respective journal; if in doubt, feel free to drop a comment here (all screened)
  • active hours: USAmerican, schedule can vary; usually sparse around the weekend
  • RP pace: Varies. I write best with momentum so boomerangs are loved, but sometimes I blink and a “day off” turns into half a week. If you want me to prioritize a thread, feel free to reach out!
  • RP style: Small present-tense brackets by default, but happy to switch to prose and/or ditch the small. Bracket tone varies; I like to throw in expression shifts and body language details, especially when icons don’t cut it, and introspection is my jam. No obligation to match my length or style!

I’ve been in DWRP since late August 2023, and while I feel like I’ve gotten the swing of things, there’s always something new to learn. Pointers welcome!

general habits/preferences

  • Most of my RPing has been in @labyrinthum since 2024 February; I do list mod things there as of November, so this is unlikely to change!
  • That said, you can still spot me around memes, PSLs, and small communities on occasion. Feel free to reach out if you want a thread (see dropdown below for additional info), but note that when my plate’s full, I prioritize game tags.
stuff that was more relevant to the meme era, but it isn’t necessarily outdated
  • Most of my threads are tag-outs so I can better manage my active thread count. More often than not I’m tagging canonblind, because something about the character and/or top-level caught my interest. If you want to tag into one of my characters, give me a poke and I’ll probably be down to thread with you!
  • I prefer to let CR develop organically as threads play out, as opposed to jumping in with heavily-established relationships (e.g. suddenly our characters are childhood BFFs), and for this reason I usually ignore shippy memes. I’m not opposed to assumed CR or even romance, but let’s see if our characters and writing vibe first!
    • caveat: Non-misfire texting threads assume some degree of acquaintanceship by default. The characters swapped numbers at some point, after all.
  • Typically I tag around in talk-y memes with no particular place, just because “here’s a backdrop, go” usually doesn’t spark a thread idea. That said, scene-setting is lovely. If a thread’s been going for a while, I’m probably happy to nudge it away from the memeverse’s voidy jamjar and establish some ground!
  • Generally speaking, I’m not picky! Crosscanon and crossmedium are both great, and neither icons (or lack thereof) nor formatting style are dealbreakers for me. Love me some dynamic CR, whether that means relationships are positive or negative or anything in-between.
  • I don’t have many hard ‘no’s, and don’t need content warnings. Although I rarely seek out smut, I’ll write it if the dynamic hits.
  • Improv practice is a big reason I’m here at all. Throw me a wild, wacky scenario; make our characters face things they would never touch in canon; and let us yes-and/no-but together into the sunset.
