verse note, for the canon-familiar
I default to playing Aubrey at some ambiguous point after the True End, although for anyone not in the canon it doesn’t matter too much either way. The main thing this affects (as opposed to a pre-ending or -game state) is that she’s done some self-reflection and… well, let’s be real, old habits die hard. She’s still gonna have anger issues and all that fun jazz. Will just be a tad more careful about letting those get out of hand!

Also, invisible handwave that she feels the need to make some friends entirely separate from All That Baggage, hence hanging out wherever random memes are set and the like.

I am extremely down to write her at other canon points (various stages of backstory and alternate endings alike neutral ends my angst-ridden beloved), with castmates or otherwise. Hit me up!

assorted headcanons
- “Hooligan” is a term only used in the battle screens (and merch but we’re ignoring that), so I have tentatively concluded it is a name of Sunny’s machination and no one uses it in-universe. The journal name was too good to pass up, though.
- Did not, despite what the Fandom wiki implies, actively bully Basil for four years. She did, however, spark some degree of name-calling (“‘creep’ and things like that” may be downplayed); when her initial outrage faded, she proceeded to ignore the guy with prejudice. The bullying from other sources did not stop, however, nor did Aubrey lift a finger to stop or push against it. Complacency is totally better, right?
- Went to church weekly for 4 years straight but not necessarily religious. A certain in-game incident kind of soured the whole thing a lot, too; I tend to assume she hasn’t gone back since. The exact nature of this religion is left ambiguous in-game, and mun doesn’t know enough to fill in the blanks; assumed attitude is something like “if there is a God, he kinda sucks.”
- This has no canon basis but, considering the state of her house, I tend to think Aubrey is not super familiar with texting or computers. Handwaving this bigtime for any texting memes anyway.

some potentially-relevant factoids

- Has a pet rabbit named Bun-Bun! Also had a plush doll-toy, of an eggplant, named Mr. Eggplant. (Kind of bad at naming things.)
- Used to draw as a kid, but there’s no evidence she still does. (Would say she just grew out of it or lost interest; nothing dramatic about it, just the way lots of people scribble as children but stop as they get older (and develop higher standards for themselves).)
- Knows how to fix a pipe leak. (Probably has other rudimentary house-maintenance know-how, because lord knows the adult in her house isn’t doing any of it….)
- Holds a local rock-skipping record. (Just because there’s next to nothing of her having fun with the new friends in-game doesn’t mean they aren’t fully capable of hanging around and being nerds. They’re good kids, at the end of the day.)
- Based on Headspace [a kid-version of her, filtered through the dreams of a close chlidhood friend], used to be pretty impassioned about romantic escapades. She still monologues about interpersonal drama, just in a very different context. (Seems like the type to secretly but nonironically enjoy soap operas.)
- In the game’s battle mechanics, Aubrey takes the role of tank; hits hard, has high HP, but slower than average and has mediocre Juice [equivalent of mana/magic points]. (High overall tolerance, low in-the-moment resilience? Can definitely pack a punch—but don’t worry about the nail bat, it’s just for show/intimidation.)

true end (default)

• Generally similar to One Day Left; can still be a menace, but generally more chill & willing to be open.
• The guard is not completely down, especially with strangers, but turns out Trusting People Is Okay Actually so it’s more “will approach with caution” than “will ignore straight-up unless specifically called.”
• Many conflicting thoughts/feelings wrt the truth & its effect on the group’s friendships, but leaving specifics vague/open for RP purposes.

neutral end (only on request/in particular circumstances; highly speculative)

• Doing extremely bad, thank you, especially in immediate aftermath of the final night. Detached in that one canon line (compared to the others, at least) but it’s gotta blow at some point…
• Unlike true end, feels like opening up completely backfired, or is useless at best. Backpedaling bigtime on “it’s good to feel your emotions” because then this happened.
• Angrier. More volatile, more withdrawn—or detached entirely. It can be a day-to-day seesaw, especially without anyone left to turn to.

• “neutral” end above assumes Basil died; have not given as much thought to oyasumi end (Basil & Sunny hospitalized, but Sunny dies) or hikikomori offshoots (abandon/die with no outside, or abandon/die with one (1) singular day of grass-touching)
• there’s also at least 2–3 distinct backstory phases: kid (≤12, before Mari died), circa blonde phase (before & after album theft?), and pink pre-game. Kid era does not really interest me alas, but idk maybe if the circumstances call for it
